These are one of my absolute favourite species after Fairy-wrens of course They are often heard but not seen deep on long grass but if your patient every so often the little(9-11.5cm) bird will pop up onto a high(often in the clear) stem of grass and survey their surroundings. They have an unmistakable wheezy call. This is non-breeding plumage.
A pugnacious pose, sharp, like the stripes on head, well exposed.
If the IQ will tolerate, I could see several cropping options, including a vertical and a horizontal version cropped a little tighter all the way around, esp. above.
I might very lightly paint over the brightest spots in the background to even them out a bit.
Your patience really paid of. Great pose, with great detail. The perch is great along with a superb background. I agree on the crop maybe a vertical crop? Other than that well done.
