    Hi Jonathon, challenging ones to get in flight, nice one! I think you could brighten the head a little, and hope for a slightly more front on view next time!

    Good points by Geoff. In addition, the head doesn't seem critically sharp. Looks like perhaps the focus was on the tail or back.

    Might consider pushing up the ISO to get a bit more aperture flexibility.

    Hi Jonathan. There are some good suggestions by Geoff and Randy. The head is turned back toward us just enough for the pose to work for me. You might try some selective sharpening on the head to see if that helps.

    Rear dorsal view shows the plumage nicely, and the head turn almost works, but he's still going away from you which is less than ideal. Still, you take what you can get, and this makes a nice placeholder until a better opportunity comes along. Ditto the comments from Randy and Geoff.
