    Default Springtime Bighorn Ram

Last week in Rocky Mountain National Park. The sun was already high and I had to settle for side lighting so it was a bit of a challenge. I would have like to have been able to have gotten a bit more on the ram's level but this was the best I could get.

Nice look to this partially shaded shot. I like the rocky FG and sunlit trees in the BG. Coat still looks pretty good.

Very impressive Tom. A great pose in a good setting from a less than ideal angle. You clearly made the most of it though.

They are challenging to photograph Tom. You did pretty well with mixed light conditions.

Beautiful animal, in a striking pose clearly demonstrating his power.
Awkward lighting conditions are what photography is all about, whilst it maybe nice to have great light all of the time it rarely happens. Capture the moment is what I say

have to agree with Ken here...so often the best sightings happen upon us in less-than-ideal lighting so we have to make the most of it

you handled the light here well Tom...and I like the elevated position with the 3D feel of the DOF

Hi Tom, really like the statuesque effect achieved here, and the slanting rock ledge just adds even more to the feel of a rugged animal in a rugged habitat. Nicely done
