was in Bay Area for work and was able to squeeze in a few hrs around sunset at PA Baylands....Arash's home turf. Excellent spot for Avocets.

Excellent image Kaustubh, just love the low angle and detail captured. One thing that make this image IMO is that the beak is so long and sharp.

Excellent low angle and soft light, with very good detail. Raised front leg gives nice sense of motion. The rear of the bird is rather dark --I wonder if you could bring out more detail there using the S&H adjustment? (Actually, I think the whole image can go a bit brighter).

I wonder about the dark blue stripe at the very top of the frame. You might try brightening it a bit, or cloning it out altogether.

John, agree that it can go a bit brighter. had processed it on my office laptop last week...bad idea :-) I dont mind the dark strip though...but yes, going brighter will help on that front as well, I think. Thx for the constructive feedback.

Wonderful, serene, dreamy look (face expression) is what makes the image for me.

Hi Kaustubh. An excellent low shooting angle, nice light, good sharpness, and an interesting pose. John makes a couple good suggestions regarding overall brightness and the dark strip at the top. I think I would prefer the image without the dark strip, but as you note above, increasing the brightness may solve this issue. Well done.

Sweet light, sweet shot, Kaustubh. It has your signature low shooting angle even though you're not on your home duck pond. Nicely done, and I don't really mind the dark strip.

KD, your usual excellent perspective, and I do like the leaning walking pose in the water. Colours of the Avocet well exposed, and just love those blues of the water. Apart from the darker area on top, which I dont find distracting, I would still take a bit off the top, and a touch off the bottom too.

Lovely serene feel to this; nice low angle and yes to a bit brighter.
