Today when I was in Galveston, the wind was really high (about 25 mph), and the waves were the biggest I'd ever seen there without a storm.
I walked along a jetty to try to get some pictures of the waves crashing against the piers when I spotted a brown pelican riding the waves! Up one wave, over the top and down on the other side in the "hole" between waves. There he'd come up with a tasty bit of seafood for dinner!
As the waves seemed to be getting larger and began cresting near his fishing spot, Mr. Pelican simply began to rise on wing, glide over the tip of the wave, and down into the "hole" for his seafood dinner!
Wave after wave he rode or glided. It was down to an art! I watched a long time, and got some very good shots of the expert at work.
Very little cropping done except a little on the right for better composition.
I was using my Canon 7d with the EF 100-400 is lens set at f10, 1250 shutter speed
But I seem to be having a problem attaching the photo. It doesn't say why, but it never attaches the photo? any suggestions?
