    Default Yellow-Throated Vireo display

This male Yellow-Throated Vireo was displaying on a branch above a female hiding
in the underbrush. I have never seen this kind of display before.

    Bryan:

Interesting display for sure. Nice background, good scale to the perch.

I might consider tightening up the crop a bit, a modest amount off the top, bit off the bottom. All the negative space doesn;t add a lot for me.

I am not seeing a lot of detail in the yellows on the eyebrow and throat, but I don't think they are blown.

    Cheers

Toned down the yellows, cropped more, another round of sharpening. Thoughts?

Great capture of some amazing behavior, Bryan. I like the repost but for me, less crop works fine.

Good attentive pose Bryan, and a good capture of the display with the fluffed up plumage. Lovely clear BG, and your repost works well.

    Bryan:
To my eye, the yellows mentioned are much better.
I might have left a tiny bit more room below on the recrop, but it tends to be a pretty personal thing.

    Nicely done.

I actually prefer the catchlight in the 1st image, more subtle. The sharpening made it a bit too "flashed" looking in the repost, for my taste.

    Cheers

Excellent pose, BG and exposure. If mine, I'd move the bird lower in the frame...even in the repost.

I like the repost but agree with Kaustubh about moving the bird lower in the frame. I like the fluffy feathers, pose and complimentary BG.
