I like the interaction of goslings with this Canada Goose mother. Can I assume it was the mother? At any rate, she was feeding from the bottom of the lake, perhaps teaching the young how to eat.

Nice moment captured. harsh light hurts this and it needs a bit of clockwise rotation.

Good detail, but the goslings seem lost in the expanse of blue. Would have been a bit better if they were looking at the camera, but in general they are just too small in the frame.

The adult is not necessarily the mother, Tom. There is a Canada Goose couple at my main shooting site, and both adults are taking care of the babies.

Hi Tom. John is correct - this is likely the female, but both parents tend the brood - and the family stays together till the following spring. You captured a nice family scene, but I think the image would have more impact if you cropped about half the water below the geese. I would wish that the adult's head was turned slightly more towards us, but the head angles of the goslings are fine - my preference is usually to not have the subjects looking directly at the camera, but rather interacting with their environment as if I wasn't there. The small bit of food the rear gosling is eating adds interest. I agree about the rather harsh light and the need for CW rotation.

A nice family moment you got here Tom. I also agree with the critiques already offered...the good news is that they are likely staying at this location for a while still and will afford you time to put the suggestions into effect.
