    Default Eurasian Reed Warbler

This is the first time I've managed to get one of these fellows even slightly clear of the reeds, so I was pleased. Nonetheless, I had to work with a fairly high iso to maintain shutter speed while at the sweet spot of the lens. I ran a 2 pixel gaussian blur on the background as the only noise reduction after low settings in ACR, and cropped a fair bit for this vertical comp.

Very nice pose. I like the complementary colours.

Some thoughts. It would be nice if the bird was larger by getting closer to the subject or used a longer lens. Also I'd place the bird just a tad lower in the image and try to remove the oof reed at it's feet.
    Nice shot

Hi Joe, thanks for your input. I was shooting out of a fixed hut, and he didn't want to do me the favour of coming closer! maybe next time. Another bird did come closer, but the only shots I got suffer from him staying deep in the reeds. I considered a PS mission to remove the offending reed, but don't expect it to be that successful.
