This was taken at Fort Desoto. I love how the wind whipped up his head feathers. It would be a great ad for a hair taming product!

Nice image Gail! I like the hairdo, sharpness, detail and habitat. I would clone out the white spot above the bill at the right side and the ones below the egret as well.

    Gail:

A very windy day, don't often see them with such waves, hairdo is great.

Well exposed, sharp, like the legs, nice comp.

Agree with Jim about knocking down the scatterred specular reflections.

    Cheers

Great hairdo. When were you there?
I would also try to apply some blur to the BG, would make it pop.

Nice comp, colours and sharpness Gail. I agree with the above comments too. Here is a quick repost with the highlights fixed up, cloned out the brown reed in the BG near the birds neck and used the blur tool on the BG which is very light but does a good job for me.

Wow Paul! Thanks for fixing my picture. I have just (yesterday) downloaded CS5 as a trial. I am still figuring out how to move my pics from Lightroom to CS5!! It is going to be a steep learning curve...

Gail your comp suits the pose perfectly, and you have given the egret enough space all round. Not much to add from the others, as Paul's repost has addressed them. Good luck with CS5.
