This shot was taken before the previous post that I had. This owl was such a good parent, delivered the lizard to one of the babies. Hope you like it.

    Hi Troy,
I'm not loving this one! I like the previuos post much better. Very hard to see the prey against the plumage so the impact gets lost.
The Bg is great. The mound of dirt is not that visually appealing. I would love to see this as a vertical,
    Gail

    Troy:

Nice capture, but because of the prey blending in so well, a tighter crop, probably a vertical as Gail suggested, would help the prey stand out.

Yes, in a perfect world, a more attractive perch, but this is where they stand most of the time, on the burrow entrance mound, so it works for me.

    Cheers

I like this one alot, and I find the horizontal comp well balanced as is. Love the slight lean from the owl. Prey item is a neat bonus too. Well done!

Troy, could you please share whether the owl was baited? Regardless whether it is, I like this with the prey but prefer previous post.

    Nope Marina, thank you.
I have the entire sequence of young eating it until it swallowed the whole thing.
