Hi, I'm Steve and I'm a photoholic. I started in 1962 at the USAF Photo School and have kept up ever since. My main interest is in birds and wildlife but also like landscapes and sports car racing. I'm a long time Pentax user but also have a Canon 1D Mk II N and recently I bought a Nikon D2X. Time will tell but I'm leaning toward keeping the Canon and adding an EF 400 f/5.6L and if I ever win the lottery the EF 400 f/4 DO. I am amazed at the quality of the images posted here and I hope to add some of my better images to the forums as well.

A big welcome to BPN. This is a great place to learn and grow as a nature photographer.
Although I am a Nikon shooter, the Canon 400 f/5.6 is very highly thought of as a bird in flight lens.

Will look forward to your posts. If you want to get your feet wet on the site, the Eager to Learn forum is a nice place, with friendly folks, and a bit more laid back ( but still very useful) critiquing style.

Or, if you feel comfortable, jump in on Avian. Also nice people, but a bit different style.
