    Well timed for the take off Ken, and a species I havent seen before. Lots of space to fly into.

    Fantastic-looking bird with a great take-off pose. I feel that there is too much room to the right. Also, I think the SS of 1/100sec was too slow, resulting in too much motion blur. The bird's body is also very dark -- perhaps you can bring up some detail with an S&H adjustment?

    I like the nicely lit head and good eye contact. Wish for more detail on the body and would crop off the right and top.

    Thanks for the comments, I agree that the blacks look a bit too black, but they are extremely black, looks better in RAW and TIFF than JPEG. Just tried S/H something I rarely use and it really does not do a lot.

    I also agree that the settings were not correct I should have upped the ISO and of course I posted the wrong S/S it was actually 1/1000, sorry about that
