    This Wood Duck was photographed from a blind on a small woodland pond. 7D, 500 mm f/4 + 1.4X, 1/640, f/5.6, ISO 400, tripod. All comments are welcome and appreciated.

    Steve;

    Well exposed, nice display of green and purple on head, sharp.

    These guys are always a challenge to show the full range from the blacks to the whites and the patch on the bill which often blows out. I might try and tease out a little bit more detail in the darks on the shoulder.

    Looks like there was something in the way on the lowest area of the breast, slight haze.

    I like the composition.

    Steve, I think your choice of comp has managed to capture every colour this guy has. In doing that, you have brought out and exposed them very well. The lighter water BG makes them pop even more.
