Very nice that you found a nest that is separated from the busy backgrounds. At f/10 that is amazing. Did you do any pp blurring? I love the intimate parent-chick portrait.

Thank you Susan. No post processing except a slight levels adjustment to bring the whites down a bit, dodged the parent's eye, and sharpening. Just worked to find a spot where I could get in tight and eliminate as much clutter as possible. Not an easy task at that place.

Wonderful capture, Grace. Terrific behavior, comp, detail, exposure, background. Nicely done indeed. I guess I'll have to go there one of these days.

Good choice of aperture to get both birds in focus Grace. And the BG still looks nice. Love the pose of the baby! I might sharpen the adult's head feathers a little more.

A photo with a story to tell.

Well done to get both birds sharp with ha's and catch a good expression on both.

Cool pose from the youngster Grace, and just love that long neck. Good choice of aperture, and the whites look good too.

Grace, I love the begging look of the youngster and the cool as a cucumber look of the adult. Nice capture.

Thanks everyone for looking and commenting, Denise, the look on the parent's face cracked me up. Those chicks are so aggressive and she really had enough of it for a while.

    Hey Grace,

Exposure looks Spot on, and great job on locating subjects away from the background.

You go girl! Hope to see you and Joe again this summer.

    Warm Regards,

    Chas
