The subject is well lit in some gorgeous light and nicely composed within the frame.

Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.
Thanks Steve, it nearly full frame, croped a bit off the left hand side.
Cheers Vivaldo, having viewed it again, I do think the FG/BG really isolates the subject well and the HA & sidelight is spot on.

Absolutely stunning. Love the dof, lighting, pose and image quality. All the elements of the background have melted into a rich layer to showcase the lion. Love it.
This is the best Wildlife image I have seen of yours Vivaldo...WOW!!! I love everything about it!
Vivaldo,
I will not go over the top as you have posted many fine images and this is certainly one of them.
Great light and pose, grass was very kind to you.
Vivaldo,
Besides all the other reasons mentioned above on why this image works so well is the fact the FG grasses dip so nicely below the face to reveal it and then grow taller towards the back-end of the lion following its contours so well.
Vivaldo - I'll echo the others, beautiful image with great light and pleasing bg.

Wow... gorgeous light and pose of this amazing animal. Excellent work!
Great light and DOF here Vivaldo.
Hi Vivaldo, stunning light and well managed exposure. Super image with great detail and sharpness on the head.
Wonderful lion image here Vivaldo, I really like that you can just make out the black tail tip through the grass behind him...and agree with all the positive comments above. Brilliantly done
cheers

Outstanding! The grasses and shading in them make this for me!
