This one started when I spied the little finch sitting on this plant next to a creek (Placerita Creek) and there was shade behind him. It wasn't completely dark, but I lowered the level of the bg considerably during the processing, taking it a bit lower with each filter until I got it to drop out completely. Topaz DeNoise, Clean, Adjust, and Detail as well as a bit of Pixel Bender Oil Paint.

Kerry, One of my favorites of yours. My first thoughts were to tighten up the comp. but the more I look at it the more I like the negative space, I think it adds to the overall look. Nicely done.

This is outstanding, Kerry. The perch is wonderful as is the effect. The dark bg certainly enhances the image. Nicely done.

Absolutely beautiful, Kerry. I really like the black background with this and the perch is so intricate and lovely, it complements the bird beautifully.

Beautiful image, Kerry. The composition, black BG, and filtering make it just perfect.
