    Default Saltbush secret (Brown Falcon)

    Not often you see this species hiding in the coastal saltbush plants. They are normally on a dead limb or even on the ground. The colours were a bit of a challenge to get right on this one as the sun was quite low and the ambient light was affecting things a little. Let me know if the colours look OK to you

    Photoshop- slight sharpen of features, clone out of small distracting leaf

    I like the composition Paul. I haven't seen this bird in any place other than up in a tree or too far away for a decent image!

    Nice eye contact and sharp. I feel there is a bit too much of the out of focus forground though.

    Nice image very sharp and the light on the bird is perfect, but I think the same about the forground.

    Agree that you do not see this very often. Ofer's right about too much foreground - nice image though and I don't mind the colours as they tell me that this is taken with a low sun -even if you had not mentioned it.

    I like to see birds in habitat so I don't mind the foreground at all.
    I do think the photo needs more contrast.
