    Default Yellow-rumped Warbler

Its the early part of Warbler season here and I had a fairly common but cooperative Yellow-rumped the other day and go a couple of poses. I think this darker color background is nicer in this case than a sky blue that I also had.

Taken at Parker River National Wildlife Refuge with Nikon D700 in manual exposure mode, 1000mm (Nikon 600 with 1.7TC) f 6.7 at 1/1250, no flash, ISO 720. Processed with NX2. Basic LCH, Crop and Sharpness. It was a bit windy so the feathers were puffed a bit. Does the tail obscured by the branch in this picture cause to much of a loss/distraction?

It is right under the title. I just added the image even though I do not like what it looks like reduced in size this much.

Hi Jon, very nice capture of the little warbler. Nice job with the exposure, although I would tone down the whites around the eye - they are a little toasty. Lovely background and detail. A slight head turn toward the camera would be nice here. I think the bird could be move to the right and slightly up in the frame. Would be nice to see the tail, but it's not a show-stopper. Nice job!

Thanks very much. Good catch on the eye. I did miss that. Here is one with the eye toned down and cropped a the way you suggest. Nothing I can do about the HA though. Of tomorrow to try again.
