Hi Brendan, nice capture of the landing pose! Dangling feet are always a bonus. The harsh light was a problem for you and you could have gone even higher on the shutter speed to hold down the whites. When the sun is at an angle like this, it is difficult to get a good head angle. Being on your left means that the bird's face will be in shadow when it is looking your way, so you have a tradeoff between head angle and even illumination, neither of which works in your favor. I like your placement of the gull in the frame and the inclusion of some of the sand. The rock in the LLC makes a nice anchor for the image. Good capture!

Thanks, Kerry, this just goes to show you, that even at 70 am you can still have harsh light. Didn't even think about increasing the shutter speed more as I thought 3200 was plenty fast.
...guess there was a little glitch with posting, don't know why a high-five showed up, tried to remove but did not work!
