Finally manged to get one of these on my recent trip to Kruger National Park. One of our smallest Owlets often seen early morning.

Canon 50D/EF100/400 f6.3@1/800 iso400 cropped and removed some BG foliage.

    C&C allways welcome.

And a very pretty owl it is. It perched very nicely for you, and I like the piercing yellow eyes. On my monitor the owl looks too light and would benefit from some toning down. BG provides some nice colours, but kinda wish the foliage was further away to have it blurred more. Nice image overall.

A pearl-spotted beauty! Very sharp and yes to toning down the bird.

Fantastic, a tiny bit bright on the bird but not by much at all. Nicely balanced composition in my eyes as well.

Great pose from this little guy and considering they like being in between the foliage...I would say this was pretty out in the open! So foliage does not bother me too much as there is nice seperation..like Daniels suggestion about brightness...Nicely done here Pieter!

Great sighting Pieter, and good eye contact. The little guy seems to have fairly large feet for his size, and Im ok with the separation of the foliage.

Thank you folks for the feedback, was not sure on the brightness and will tone it down a touch.

No flash Arthur, about 8.00am with a low winter sun behind some thin cloud.
