Another somewhat high key figure, Photo was exposed to the right and I brought the reeds part way back down.

    7D, 500mm +1.4TC, 1/320, f/7.1, ISO 400, manual. flash and cropped.

Dave, once again the colours of the warbler pop nicely, and I like the pose. Overall, the exposure looks good. I actually prefer your previous post of this guy, as in this, the reeds seem a tad overpowering.

The colors of the warbler are popping nicely but the wing bars seem to have lost some definition, probably from the exposure to the right. I agree that the reeds are a bit overpowering here, but overall nicely done. This is it's environment and I like shots that show the environment.

I like the overall image (great pose by the warbler!) but I could do without the cattail at top and I have also toned down the midtones a bit as the image seemed a tad light in those tones. What do you think?

Tough work to get a balanced composition with this one but you've pulled it off. Agree that there is a tiny bit of detail lost on the head and wing but Daniels repost has improved that.

Thanks Daniel. Much better. I had been looking too hard at right side and where to crop then at top!!
