I was watching a pair of oystercatchers at the lagoon when they took off. Luckily I was on a small enough f/stop to include the background not too blurred.

Exposure is dead on! Looks like you captured the whites and the blacks nicely. And the first thing I thought when I saw this shot was the habitat. Reminds me of the salt marsh I love to spend time on! Love the eye contact.

    Thanks for sharing.

One Sweet flight shot. Love the habitat in the BG and the bit of grass on the bottom provides a nice base. Beautiful detail and exposure.

We've all seen great oc's in flight, you saw a great opportunity to make a unique image that included habitat. The whites on the near wing look quite bright, wonder if you could pull a bit more detail there?

Nice flight image. Like the background and some of the grass below the bird. Gives a sense of the environment.

I really like the environmental aspect of the shot. The clouds, far shoreline, water and near grasses really make the image for me.

Pose is spot on as well.

Good for you to be prepared for a dandy shot.

Great flying posture Susan, sharp and well exposed. I really like how the OC is separated from the BG.
