Been trying to get a in flight of these for a while, find it difficult to get detail in them in flight for some reason...About 75% of full frame.

    Comments and crits appreciated

    Dumay:
Like the full down and forward wing pose, stretched out neck well clear of the wings, illumination is nice with pretty good detail, pleasant background.
Head could be a sliver more our way.

I think these guys have the same issue as many very dark/black birds in regards to showing feather detail. The light has to be at just the right angle and intensity to see much detail. The redwing blackbirds out in force here, but often the feathers don't show much detail, despite good tech and exposure.

I have had the best luck on very cloudy days with fill flash to bring the detail.

    Cheers

I spent a couple hours recently trying to photography the american version of these guys (anhingas) and always tried to expose to bring out that amazing feather detail and texture. You did that very well here! Thanks for sharing! Excellent wing position also.

Lots of detail here and a lovely pose.

I like the hint of clouds in bg as well.

You seem to have exposed this well enough mate. Great flying posture with the forward wing position, and overall nice and sharp. Cool pastel colour in the BG.

Well done Dumay, great BIF pose and the detail and sharpness looks good. Love the outstretched wing position.
