    Default Grey Rhebok

Taken in a Highveld mountain reserve in Swaziland. Quite skittish and the usual sighting is of their white tails bobbing away from you.

FF , crop and rotation for comp, added canvas to the corners and bottom. NR to BG.

    C&C allways welcome.

Excellent portrait of a species rarely photographed well. You're right about seeing them fleeing, I remember how frustrating that could be. The expression is beautifully captured.
    An especially nice specimen, too.

Gives a good sense of a highland environment with the green grass and variety of flowers, with the distant oof background. Love the pose on the rhebok. I wonder if it is possible to open up the blacks on the nose and the horns at all. Very nice all round image.

Agree with Harshad on this one...super shot, rarely photographed, and you gave a good feel for the habitat. Well done

    Pieter,

Must agree on the difficulty in getting near to these, even those around here run if you get to near.

I agree with Hilary on the blacks, but still nice to see, great FG.

The colours create a very soft and gentle image here Pieter, the BG works well in separating the subject, although the slight diagonal isn't ideal, but no big deal. You may need to revisit the original RAW if you want to get any more detail out of the blacks I feel, especially the horns. If you need help Pieter, shout.

From a personal POV, if you wanted a slightly cleaner image then a little bit of gardening to remove the darker grey 'flower heads' (?) might just work?

    Nice one.

With the sfot, non-competing BG, the Rehbok just jumps off the screen. Great positioning of the animal with the look over the back, great DOF and interesting flowers and grass.

Top drawer all around - well done.

Pieter - I'm late to this but agree with the others a superb shot of a difficult species. Great pose, sharpness and comp.

Neat looking animal that I've never seen before. Thanks for sharing this one.
