    I shot this in Texas last week. The temperature ranged from 105 to 55 degrees and always windy.
    Nikon D300,500mm F4,ISO 800,F11,1/1250 Tripod Mtd

    Hi Dave, lovely capture with great eye contact. I would add more canvas to the left and on top. I find the comp too tight TFS

    This is a great photo of the woodpecker, with good head angle and all the colors on the head visible. I had no idea they had red eyes! I agree with adding some space above and on the left.

    Excellent pose, and I love the feet gripping the perch...especially the top one, very cool. I agree the framing is tight as posted - worth adding back canvas if you have it (unless of course that is how you like it)

    Oh, My. I love this. Is the eye really that red? I agree about a tad more space, especially on the left.

    Nice image with excellent colour and great detail Dave. Love the pose and red eye. I would also consider more space on the left.
