Another image from yesterday using manual exposure. Captured at a birding spot in Pretoria. I extended the canvas a tad on top and left.

    Stuart:

Nice wing spread, drops, soft background. Nice job on the canvas extension.

Wish the head was around our way a bit more.

Shoulder looks a bit hot on my work monitor, which tends to display a bit hot, so perhaps OK.

    Cheers

Lovely Stu, love the colours and a superb BG. I also like the wing spread and pose. Whites detail is mostly ok, besides some white spot TFS

Another tough exposure well handled. Color cop could not find any hot spots although adding some blacks to the whites may cool them off a bit.

Lovely pose showing all the details and I really like the bg.

I too like the full wing spread and it looks like you had tought lighting conditions - Southern Hemisphere light. Some of the white areas look hot to me too. I like the image.

I have been trying to photograph a simular species, the Pied Cormorant, without clipping the whites, have not had much success as were I'm photographing then also has a dark background and the bird is black with simular white areas to your species here. Keep trying I guess.

Nice light and I like the wing position. Agree the whites are a little hot.

Great wing position and exp on the darks...Whites look borderline but maybe it was fine on the raw but once converted could show brighter (just a guess)and also could be because of the dark but awesome mottled BG...I suppose the manual mode is also a bit of al earning curve! A man with your skills should learn quickly

Nice flight shot, Stuart. Great wing spread and background, and I like the water drops as an added touch. I agree with others about whites, and head turn, but a very nice image.
