Boy, does a week of rain ever make things green! Taken at the same spot as the Swamp Sparrow image I posted two weeks ago...that previous one featured brownish tones from dried vegetation.

Canon 30D + 100-400L @400mm, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/500s., f/6.3, ISO 640, +0.7 EC, natural light, handheld, audio used to lure subject onto perch (a naturally fallen tree).

Dan, very nice, love the BKG, and the Sharp Details. I guess it's a tradeoff on the oof, and losing some details as the plane changes going towards the tail area. Overall lovely feel, and great eye contact.
    congrats don

    Daniel:

Nice pose, head angle, like the grip he has on the perch, excellent BG.
The perch is rather massive for him, but you have cropped it well, and it is so weathered, that it isn't overpowering.

I would wish for a bit more DOF, but you didn't have much light to play with here based on your settings.

I might consider a crop of about 20% of the free space from the right, to see what you think,

    Cheers

Hi Dan, I like these look back poses - its so easy to comp. Overall, nice and sharp where it counts, and I like the broken perch as is. Cool green BG too. I agree moving him to the right will work.
