Taken in Eastern Oregon last week. Never have seen one of these before so I was glad to have the opportunity to take the shot. Light was not ideal but you take what you can.

    Roy,
You got all the the detail in the bird, but what is wonderful about this shot is the perch. The evergreen goes great with the Phoebe...

Beautiful background and I agree that the perch really suits the bird. Pose, head angle and sharpness are all really good. On my monitor the image overall looks a little undersaturated.

Roy, lovely capture and always nice to see a new bird! Gorgeous background, excellent sharpness and color balance, detail and head angle very good. As John mentioned, a little saturation and a slight curves adjustment to bring down the overall level would put this one over the top. If you use Photoshop, this one would be a great candidate for some L*a*b color work. Nicely done!

Here's a repost. I've upped the saturation but not comfortable doing LAB work. Thanks for all the input.

I love how the evergreen shape matches the phoebe's body curve so well. Nice complementary colors, too, between the tree/bush and background.

Repost definitely has a bit more "pop".
