Stevens repost still has a color cast with the following RGB readings from the white patch under the bill 245, 245, and 235 note the 10 point difference between the blue channel compared to the red and green channels.
In this version the whites have the following values 244,242, and 239 with only a 3 point difference between the green and blue channels most of the cast is gone I also added a small S curve to add some contrast.
Tom Really nice portrait you chose just the right amount of body to include in the image.

I used the white patch on top of the head because it is the "hottest" white area due to sun angle and the most prone to "blowing out". I set it as the white point and reduced output to 245.

In some aspects I like the last version a little better, in some aspects slightly less. In reality, there is seldom ever one "right" exposure/wb, so whatever works best for you.

Great looking portrait. Like the color in the repost. Nice clean background as well.

All I did was correct the color cast you pointed out in your first comment but did not correct in your repost of the image if you are going to correct a color cast you need to set both the white and black points and if possible the mid tone.

Very nice portrait! The original and all reposts work for me almost as well. I really don't see the need in "correcting" minor colour casts as in many cases they are totally natural.
If anything, I would like to see a tiny bit more room at the bottom so the nice long neck feathers won't be clipped balanced by cropping the same amount off the top.

Of course. I used the forehead and the pupil and got different results....
In your repost the forehead has RGB of 237/237/250. There's no "right" answer.

I agree, and it's something I'm trying to get better about w/ birds as I tend to want to remove all "orange" from white plumage when the orange is caused by a setting sun. In many ways that can remove the "feeling" from an image.
