Stuart, i like the subject and the pose, lots of color here. The BG is a bit distracting. I would consider a tighter crop. I keep getting drawn back to how much color this guy has. TFS

    Nice pic, sharp and detailed.
A couple things I noted, it doesn't have color space embedded into the file; to me it looks a little "flat/ washed out". But it looks the same in other browsers so I don't know if it's "just" a browser color management thing.

It looks to me that it's slightly overexposed overall and seems a bit yellow in the BG.

It also looks like it was composed in an attempt to follow the "rule of thirds". In this case I don't know that that is necessary or beneficial. There's a bit too much distraction in the BG and nothing in it of great benefit to the image.

Here I did a different crop (ignoring the rule of thirds), adjusted the color balance and did a levels adjustment, dodged the eye and tried to recover some detail in the breast feathers (not much luck there, you might get more from the RAW). I also cloned out some of the remaining BG hot spots. Having never seen one, the bird might be a touch dark now and a bit of lightening would add BG separation.
