    Default Theme- Short eared Owl

    I took this one in early Feb and was unsure what to do with it. The opportunity for the theme prompted me to post it.
    Natural bg on an overcast mid afternoon shoot.

    Hi Dave, this cetainly suits the theme - great high key here. I like the eye contact, and how he's turned his head towards you. Good placement in the frame too.

    nice looking at you, it appears to be a huge crop since the owl doesn't show feather details.

    The image suits the category nicely. Good eye contact, and nice placement in the frame.

    Dave, agree with others. The eyes really pop with the high-key treatment. I am fine with the blur...rest of the bird can be sharpened a tiny bit IMO. Liked the empty space.

    I would have said the crop was about 30%. When i checked in BB the RAW file was twice as large as the TIFF file which would make sense if i had taken about a third from top and side.

    SS did not help IQ either and that was why I was curious about posting it.

    I did do some extra sharpening and will have a look at more before i put the file away.
