    Default Osprey preparing to land

Another image from last week with Jim Neiger on his boat in lake blue cypress. Jim really did a lot for Diesel Doug and I driving us to every single spot! Thank you Jim. The boat was covered with mayflys in the morning, they are harmless but can be annoying. I left the one in the frame for Jim

What a killer flight pose, Arash. The details are amazing. F4 did a good job blurring the BG. Love the mayfly story!

Killer pose, excellent sharpness, detail and exposure. I assume you expose manually....

Of course Ofer, you will be toasting the ospreys if you shoot other than manual Jim Neiger, Doug Brown and I use manual exposure 100% of the time.

BTW, your email seems to be busted, my message just bounced back.

Light, details and IQ are off the charts good, Arash. Very nice pose too. You are the man.

Arash, not a whole lot to add to what has been said already. This one illustrates how subject separation from the BG should be. wing-tip-to-wing-tip sharp with BG that's blurred and yet maintains character. The slightly open bill also adds a lot.

Great pose and detail Arash. Question: would the image benefit from whitening of the whites? I just saw my first osprey up close this week, and what struck me was that the whiteness of its feet. But, obviously, I'm no expert and that is why I ask...

POP, POP, POP, thats what the osprey does in this image Arash. Excellent detail and sharpness, and how is that wingspread. Im glad you left the foliage on the right of the image.

Enrique white feathers reflect most of the light so the color depends on the light that is incident upon them, in mid-day sun you get white but in early morning (this shot was made at about 7:15AM) and afternoon you get warmer tones. I prefer to keep things natural and faithful to the field conditions, but some people prefer to color-correct their images in absolute color metric terms. It is a personal choice.
