    One of the larger of the Costa Rican hummers. Taken in natural light near a feeder at Savegre Mountain Lodge 6 weeks ago.

    Well done to freeze the wings without a flash
    Colorful background compliments the HB

    I might have preferred a slight HA towards the viewer, but that's personal

    Very nice composition with placement of hummer and room all around.

    Pretty impressive detail at that ISO.

    Bill, nice natural light shot. Great pose, and I like the BG too. That D7000 looks like it does indeed produce nice files at high ISOs.

    This is really impressive! Getting the wings sharp in such low SS (compared with multi flash technique) is pretty unusual. I guess you got them just before the down stroke when they are practically still. The D7000 looks great in high ISO - the 7D looks shocking in iso 2000...
