    Default storm over witsands

This image was taken late one morning while walking through the white dunes of Witsands in the Western Cape. It had been overcast but that changed quite suddenly when a cold front blew in from the west. The clouds became dark and ominous. Every now and then the sun would filter through the clouds illuminating the dunes.

    Hey Peter,
That was some storm! I do find some of the areas that are lighter.....illuminated by the sun a bit distracting. I do wonder if toning them down just a touch and bringing out any bit of detail would help the overall feel. I do think the comp is very strong.....so worth tweaking to see what you can do to put the finishing touches on this!

    Peter,

I agree with Roman 100%. Great image, great composition, great framing in the FG though i would have preferred a tripod, smaller aperture and near distance sharp, and great clouds.

Stark, dramatic high contrast image. Love the composition and contrasting clouds. Good comments by Roman and Robert.
