    Default Tortoise in the Fog

I was inspired by Andrew's turtle image
I used Topaz Clean, Topaz Simplify, Pixel Bender ripple blocks to alter his shape a bit, then I used Nik Color Efex fog filter with a little layer masking and last Topaz Adjust to add a bit more color as it was quite overcast when I took the photo. I sharpened it's face before adding the fog so it would still be fairly sharp.

Great looking tortoise, Judy. The habitat works well with the composition, and I like how your processing brought out the color, detail and texture of the face and legs. I'm wanting the shell to have more of the same sheen as the face & legs, but not familiar with tortoises, so maybe that's how it is naturally. Nice work!

Awesome attitude! I expect it to express some type of opinion. Wonderful lighting and detail. It has an illustrative/story telling quality. Great work, Judy!

Judy, It does have a nice illustrated look and I like the fog. Very nice details in the face and the clover adds a little whimsy.

Thanks Brendan. No the shell was not shiny and I added the fog effect over it. I finally found an image that the effect worked on

Thanks Steve! The ripple blocks filter sort of squared up it's head and widened the face which gave it a different look that I liked, more OOTB than the straight photo.

Thanks Denise! I like the clover too... I masked the blooms to keep them from being "fogged in".

Very nicely filtered Judy, I love the effect your filtering has had on the scales and shell. A lovely expression on this little one's face too. Glad to have inspired you with my turtle image, very much appreciated!

My eyes went right to that expressive face. I like the plants surrounding the tortoise. Nice effects. I with there were less fog on the shell, but then, maybe i wouldn't have focused on the face.

Great work, Judy! I love how he's looking up at you and "smiling!" The filter treatment and fog look great though I might reduce the fog effect on the shell just a tiny bit. I also love the inclusion of the flowers. Well done.

Thanks everyone! I could reduce the fog since I saved it layered and might get around to it soon.

I love the way the fog pulls you right into the tortoise's face. Really nice processing, Judy!
