Caught this fellow with his prize in the early morning foggy light. Got down low to get the angle and waited for "the look". I was hoping to capture those little jewels of dew and was delighted when I got home and saw that I did.

Beautiful bird! I love the low angle and nice separation from the background. I really like the HA and the nut! The dew drops are a nice bonus.

I was fortunate to see quite a few Scrub Jays where we vacation in Florida .

Thank you Steve! They are quite plentiful in Florida and we have quite a few out here too.

BTW, I am an Indiana native. Nice to see another Hoosier here!

Nice light and pose, and agree that the dew drops really add to it.

FYI, the Florida Scrub-Jay and the Western Scrub-Jay (as well as the Island Scrub-Jay which is endemic to the Channel Islands off California) are all now considered to be different species.

Early morning foggy light- my absolute favorite! Extremely well done image; exposure, composition, subject (especially with the acorn), and detail, all top notch. regards~Bill

Lucky you for having these.....very nice rendition of it also. I haven't seen one of these around our place since I think 2004-2005, when we had the outbreak of West Nile. The pigeons also left but are starting to return, also saw one Mockingbird last year for the first time since.

Nice capture Kerry. I like the look and I agree the dew was a bonus.

Very Nice Kerry. I like the angle very much. He's got quite a little treat there. Great shot.

    Lovely, lovely, photo.

It must be hard to get such sharp images handholding a non-IS lens like the 400 5.6L!

    Something to aspire to.
