This was one of three sows that patrolled this stretch of river that afternoon, occasionally walking, other times at full pelt, charging through the river. Could not tell you if they were related or not, but all were of similar build & size, so... The other two were walking through the river down towards this one, poised with one foot slightly off the ground she was ready for another charge for the salmon. They had obviously realised we were of no threat and walked by incredibly closely with no fear at all. A great feeling and privilege to have been this close, not aware that a day later things would be even closer with a good sized male.

What a beast Steve, nicely framed and so close. If this was mine I might tone down the shoreline FG a touch.

Hi Guys, I guess in the top LHCit could do with a hint, however the FG was an almost whitish sand which is not ideal and although there is a hint and the 'Monitor' strip is perfect there is no harm in adding a hint more.

At A3 size Peter, it does pack a punch.

Excellent detail and comp Steve . Like the environment BG and raised foot. Don't think I would like to get any closer. TFS

Steve - does look like a big one. I like the comp, the detail and the conversion and the raised paw adds to the image. Looks like the light was a little harsh, afterall 5 pm in Alaska is midday

    Rachel
