tampa fl birding

will be in tampa in 3 weeks. and will have a day to go birding and do photography. any places close by. (no boat trips). know about fort desoto - about 1 hour away?? and gatorland also an hour or so.

can't get out too early in the AM. or be back too late. if you know of anyplace close by would appreciate it.

Hi Joan the Venice Rookery is about one hour away Should be productive in the next few weeks I'm sure you will get updates from members in the area.

Last week there were some birds on eggs and some ready to take their first flight !!!

Another vote for Venice, don't know how much driving you'd have to do, but really good. There's also the dump in Sarasota, Bald Eagles there.
