Hello Grahame, I like your composition and the contrast of the bright colors against the dark pads. I would suggest blurring the background, whether with a soft blur tool or selectively using a blur filter. I find the water above the flower to be a little distracting because it is so sharp. If you have Color EFX Pro you could use the "blur vignette" - it's a quick way to do some selective blurring around the outer part of the image.

Grahame, I like this. I might pull the curve down a little so that the background doesn't appear as grey. I tried it and it looked good. I like the composition and your creative thinking for this one.![]()
I'm glad you didn't throw this one out, Grahame. Love the glow of the lower and agree you might try and darken/blur parts of the BG. Very interesting LRC.
Nice image and application, Grahame. Often the "preceived throw aways" can be some of the most interesting with cropping and a little TLC.You've shown that here.
If you have Topaz, I might suggest the use of the InFocus, to sharpen the flower a tad. It's nice as is, but you might find some adjustment brings out your vision more.
Love what you've done here. In addition to the advice you've already gotten, I would desaturate the color in the leaf(?) under the water below and to the right of the flower. I find the color in that portion of the image a bit distracting.
Curiousity got the better of me - I wanted to see what this would look like using the blurred/darkened vignette and desaturating that area on the lower right. I accomplished all the edits in PS CS5. To do the vignette, I created a duplicate layer and cut out the center using the elipse tool, refining it by adding a 25 pt feather, adjusted the curves, and applied the Blur More filter two or three times. Here is the result.
Thank you all for the suggestions have played with it and i think i may have over done it a bit. Please comment. Dawn i like yours a lot will post as soon as i can
