    HI,
This image is one that I have been after for several years and has eluded me until this past weekend. I have several images of them just hanging on the side of a tree! Suffice it to say being in the right place at the right time certainly helps! Hope you like it! All comments etc. welcomed...

Congrats on your Pileated in flight capture after all that time! Nicely frozen...I was wondering about the SS but you forgot to include your exif data I like the far wing. Harsh light which you've dealt with best you could, but its angle was not advantageous and caused some shadowing on the face and neck area. Better than any PW in flight I have!

    Michael:

Not an easy shot to catch a pileated in the clear. Ours always seem to be in the deep woods, with cluttered backgrounds.

    Good tech points from Daniel.

Look forward to your increased participation.

    Cheers

I like the flight pose, and congrats on getting your shot.
