    Default Common Redshank

Hi, this is my first post.
    I took this yesterday morning, at Erstavik just outside Stockholm Sweden. I shot thru some high grass. Nikon D3 & Nikon 300mm f/2,8 VRII + TC-20EIII @ 600mm, 1/3200s, f/5,6, ISO 1000. C & C are very welcome.

Welcome Gregor. I like this shot alot. I wish that the oof weeds in the forground were not so bright.

I like the way the redshank is lit from the side and just enough detail in the water.

Hello Gregor, and welcome to BPN. We are happy to see you here and look forward to seeing more of your images.

This is a very interesting shot with a lot of habitat, which is nice. I do feel that the oof foliage overpowers the bird somewhat since the redshank is so small in the frame. Does the image need a slight CCW rotation?

Please don't hesitate to comment on other images here, it helps us all when you do.

Lovely image but I agree this would be much better without the OOF weeds. I'd also encourage you to take a look at the posting guidelines at the top of the forum page - getting your image larger on the screen will help us see the details better and offer better critiques!

Thanks a lot for your all c&c. I will for sure look for better ways to post images, and become a full member. Personally I liked the oof weeds. I think it makes the picture different from (only) a portrait. I shall take your comments in consideration, though. And, what is a CCW rotation?

Gregor, CCW = counter clockwise, or anticlockwise as they say over in your neighborhood. It would fix a slight tilt of the image.

I think this image would do well in the Out Of The Box forum, where we are more about artistic expression than natural history. If you would like I can copy the post to that forum.
