    Default Pied-billed Grebe

    Attached Images Attached Images

    EOS-1D Mk IV, 500mm f/4, 1/2000, f/5.6, ISO 400
    Full Frame

Photographed early this month at The Birding Center in Port Aransas, TX.

Because of the angle here, the eye came out quite dark.
Lightened it by 0.9 stops using the Adjustment Brush in ACR.

Looking forward to your comments and critiques!

Works for me Mike. Good details and composition. I don't mind the slightly higher shooting angle.

Nice detail and sharp. For some reason such high shooting angle makes it look as if it was taken in a zoo...

This high angle is quite different for me. I was stretching a bit after lying on the hard boardwalk trying to keep out of people's way when this Grebe came quite close. I wasn't quite ready to get back down yet so I tried a few while standing. I ended up kind of liking the way this pose worked for this angle and the way that you could see the feet.
But I have to admit I had not considered the "zoo factor"
