Hi All
Back from the land of dryness, heat and wildfires. Lots of birds, scenery and wildfires.
Fourteen new species, which included some of the tougher ones and a few others that I have to identify. This image was taken near Concan, Texas and the bird is in no real danger (I pasted him in), I boosted the background colors, using Topaz Adjust to make it look like wildfire.
But We had lots of trouble getting around border patrol, wildfires and the heat.
I didn't know this but we were in Big Bend National park one day and it was 107 degrees and the four of use had major camera malfunctions. We each had to buy a cooler, add ice, layer newspapers and set cameras inside to cool the cameras down or they wouldn't focus. It helped but sure made snap photography tough. If I ever went again my film camera would be with me.
I didn't matter if you were using Canon or Nikon we all had problems..seems the highest operating temp is 104F.
Thanks for looking good to be back...Happy Easter All

I might refine the edges a touch if it were mine. Nice colors and they do remind me of fire. Thanks for the tip on the camera. I never knew that.
The image matches your words really well and would seem to sum up your Texas experience nicely.
