After seeing what Scott Vincent did painting with city lights, I could not resist giving it a try.
This was a 2 sec. exposure, while doing a wave like motion horizontally across the city skyline. 50% crop, and added PB oil.

Brendan, you got sine curve here! The oscillation looks uniform to give the 3D feeling. Nicely done

Brendan, I love it and would hang it on my wall!! The black BG w/ the single thin red line... lovely!

Thanks very much. It's cool to try different motions, and just when you think you can predict how it will look, you are surprised by how the camera captrues it. Here's part of the scene I was working with:

Firstly Brendan it's so rewarding to know that an image of mine has inspired you. I've received so many great comments on that photo, and to know that it has helped others to try new, creative things is great and is what these forums are all about!

Secondly, your rendition of a "self paintrait" is stunning. You nailed it! I agree with Denise - I would hang that on my wall. Definitely something to be proud of!! Can't wait to see more

Thanks, very much Scott. Though I liked the winners of the theme this week, I was rooting for your image to be a winner too! I really admire photographers who can get great image compositions SOC. Looking forward to more of your creative images!
