Two jettys (the Surfside and Quintana Jettys) are on either side of the channel that goes into Freeport Harbor. In this image the lighter strip at the top is the Surfside Jetty, while the bird is on one of the granite boulders that make up the Quintana Jetty.
I thought I'd use this image as an example of how a photographic image can be more than what we "see". To my eyes, even through the viewfinder, it was a black bird on a jetty, with not a whole lot of detail. I overexposed the image, then fixed it in post, to show how a camera can gather more optical information than our eyes. Comments and critique welcomed. regards~Bill

Boy, that is detailed in the blacks, William! Yousa! I thought at first that I didn't much care for the light pink strip on the top but with the light pink rock at the bottom it kind of works here. I love the tail splay and the overall pose of the bird and those blue black feathers are lovely!

Very well done with the blacks William but I can't help but look at that strip of color at the top.

Hi William. Great pic, I love the head angle, pose of the tail, the plumage's details and exposure is perfect. I suggest you try to correct the horizon a bit because it seems a little sloped. That's all that I find can be improved.
