Default Great Egret with Green Lore

I was unaware that Great Egrets had green lores during high breeding season until I looked at this image and my North American bird book. I didn't even know what the lore was and had to look it up on the internet. What a beautiful green! Is the green present in both males and females?

I took this last week at one of the lakes in our subdivision.

Nice hunting pose. I might trim a bit of canvas off the bottom of the frame, and I'd try for a lower shooting angle if possible.

Tom, As Doug mentioned this is a nice hunting pose. I like the idea of taking some off the bottom. Sharpness looks good. I wish the light were softer.

Yes to sharp. And yes, both sexes get green lores. The light here is very bright and the veggies are distracting to me
