Got this guy in full breeding plumage as he banked to dive for a fish.
Heading to Florida to work Fotofest. Looking forward to seeing some of you there.
Alan, great shot. Love it as is, enough catch light on the eye, anymore dodge would look unnatural.
Hope to finally meet you at the Fotofest, it would be an honor.

Pose is FANTASTIC as are the techs - spot on! Like Troy - I won't touch the eye.
I guess you chose this tight square presentation in order to show the detail. Here is another option for a presentation in which the bird has some more room to "fly into".
Cheers,
After viewing this image, I have deleted from my hard drive all of my Forster's Tern flight shots.
I prefer the original crop - nice and tight showing the detail of this beautiful bird, and the tips of the wings are perfectly aligned with the diagonal of the frame.
Alan, you have posted many beautiful images on this forum, but this one really takes it to a new level...
This is so superb! I like both shots, the OP is like a "painting" and the second portrays dramatic movement. If I were to hang one on the wall, I would have to consider carefully which effect I wanted. Really great shot!
