    Default glowing

The light on the heron really shows off his golden color. The 'catch' in his beak (is it a fish?) is in nice focus as is his golden eye. The background is busy and a branch is blending with his beak, but he still stands out well because he is glowing gold. I wish the leaves weren't in the way by his feet. I love the texture of his feathers.

One of my favorite birds on the planet. Cool fish with the busy BKGR and the intersecting branch noted by Dawn. The big problem here is that the image looks a bit hazy overall--it caused me to go and clean my glasses... Perhaps running a contrast mask (Unsharp mask at 15/65/0) on the bird only would help this quite a bit.

nice catch overall a bit busy, head is sharp but the rest is quite hazy, was something between the lens and the bird?

Yes, very cool bird, and neat catch. I like the overall colours but "haze" noted. Another thing to watch out for is clipped toes, but I realize you were likely minimizing FG distractions. Still, do you have more room for those?

Good catch, Dan. I was so concerned with the haze that I did not notice the clipped toes! Good question by Arash.

I was using the AF center point and had no time to change for a more cranial one
