    Gorgeous image. I think it might instead be a Purple Finch though. Doesn't seem right for Cassin's or House Finches.

    I see your point Charles but I still think it's a HF. Our PF's are a bit more purple.

    I have not looked at my Sibley but I am betting that this is not a House Finch... Like the image, the soft light and nice colors. There is a wide, light halo around most of the bird....

    Nice Image Looks like 3D..nice colors and BG also. as per purple finches zebra is my favorite one.

    nice bird but the BG looks in relation to bird seems unnatural to me, looks like it was masked and blurred in photoshop and hence the halo

    Judging by the beak this is most certainly a Purple Finch some are more colorful than others. I agree about the halo.
