Unfortunately light was poor and the original image was quite noisy (Canon!).

    Ignacio:

Excellent timing, good angle in frame with nice full down pose, like the stalk, adds nice balance and tells the story of what is going on, good background. Might consider softening the edge of the large dark mass just in front of the bird, a minor point.

The bird is just a bit soft to my eye, perhaps a side effect of noise reduction.

All in all, a striking image, with perhaps a bit more sharpening to head to further improve it.

    Cheers

As Randy says the stalk really adds to this image, but of course the action and capture is what makes this a great image

Absolutely stunning bird. Great capture and comp. I wish too for more sharpness on head. Lovely BG.
